This tent has a couple of issues which is why i have listed for parts and spares for those who already have this tent. But equally would be a good inexpensive way for a family to ‘have a go’ at camping to see if its for them. We used it for this purpose twice and remained dry and warm even in 35mph winds and a very damp atmosphere this year.
The issues. Several split poles which have been taped (replacement poles readily available)
The rain safe door pole is bent and damaged (we taped the flap up and was fine)
Small hole in the ground sheet (gorilla tape would do the trick for a trip)
The steel poles on the porch are either bent or we didnt erect properly. Either way it kept us and our boots, bikes, scooters dry for 6 nights.
Bedrooms stayed dry and cosy
We are very new to camping but managed fine in this. We have decided camping is for us and have now invested in a new tent.

TENT DESCRIPTION – A superb, traditional 6-berth family tunnel tent now with a fully sewn-in groundsheet. The Horizon 6 features two 3-berth inner tents either of which can be removed for living space flexibility. This flexibility is enhanced by the existence of 2 entrance doors – one with a rain porch over it – and an end door which can be used when one of the inners has been removed. The construction is simplicity itself featuring five colour-coded sets of 11mm fibreglass poles to form a traditional tunnel with lots of headroom. Two steel porch poles are supplied to create a sun canopy with two of the 3 doorways. There are two PVC windows in the tent side panels plus mesh panels on both side doors for optimum ventilation. The tent is pitched flysheet first. Other features include a cable entry point, pre-attached guylines, water repellent zips and hanging storage pockets (bears love these). The flysheet is 190T fire retardant polyester with a waterproof PU coating and fully taped seams providing 3000mm of hydrostatic head protection. The inner tents are 190T breathable polyester and the sewn-in groundsheet is polyethylene.
PORCH DESCRIPTION- This is new side porch that can be added to all Horizon models, the 4, 6, 8 and 10. The Horizon Side Porch (Stan likes the Boxter) is a fully enclosed side extension that will provide additional relaxation or storage space adjacent to either side door of the tent. The front door panel of the porch is completely removable should you wish to create an al fresco sitting area or you can leave the panel in and just use the ‘J’ door for entering/exiting. The large all around windows (with curtain covers) will ensure plenty of natural light gets into the porch area. The 19mm steel pole frame, with webbing straps, will ensure your porch remains a robust and rigid addition to your tent. The flysheet is 190T PU coated polyester with 3000mm HH and the loose groundsheet provided is durable polyethylene.
