The water column test (=mm Schmerbers) measures the waterproof rating of the fabric only. Our test allows us to prevent any entry of water through the stitching, flaps, openings, zips, etc : we test all of our tents in a wind tunnel with a rotary table to expose each side of the tent to the wind.
