Conway Tardis Folding Camper/Trailer Tent, Hard top. Condition is Used. Buyer to collect (or delivery can be arranged within reasonable distance at £1 per mile)The camper is over 30 years old. We have owned it for over 5 years and have had many happy family holidays across the UK. We are now struggling to store so it has to go.It sleeps 6 in three double beds with comfortable mattresses and lots of headroom. The kitchen has 2 gas hobs, grill, sink and space for a fridge. There is plenty of storage and surface space, more than in many full size caravans, yet it folds down within minutes into a compact, stable and easy-to-tow trailer. This video shows you how to set it up (although it’s a slightly different internal layout) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VmDqUn1H0c. The Conway Owners Club website also has useful information and links. It comes with a Sunncamp awning (with groundsheet and optional bedroom), 240/12v electrics and hook up cable, a gas bottle (plenty still in it) The Interior of the camper is in good dry and clean condition and the camper is water tight (we’ve been away during the thunder storms this week and there have been no leaks) It also comes with the original curtains and matching cushions plus the original roof support covers which aren’t shown in the pictures. Also included is a clean chemical toilet (we’ve never used it) and a new toilet/utility tent. While the condition is generally good given the age, and the camper is ready for several more years of happy holidays, there are a few issues to point out:Biggest issue is that one corner of the roof does not wind up and has to be lifted manually while someone winds the rest, it is then held up with a piece of wood (solution recommended by the conway owners club!). It has never worked in the years that we have had it but has not stopped us using it, just means it’s a 2 person job to put it up/down.During storage this year a small number of bees got in at one end and made their home in the canvas, this has caused a couple of small holes in the roof of one of the bed pods, we discovered this just before we went away last week so repaired with decent fabric gaffa tape, this held up to thunderstorms while we were away but if we were keeping would probably apply a decent canvas patch. There are small tears which have been repaired where the canvas meets the door, which is common to virtually all of these campers and is not a problem. The sink should have a foot-operated water pump, the foot button is there but we don’t have the pump which plugs in to a socket on the outside of the van, easily replaced but we’ve never bothered with it as we just pour water out of containers. The rooflight was replaced by myself a couple of years ago, works perfectly and is water tight. The tyres were replaced when we bought the camper but there is no spare. There is a large leisure battery included but it is old so may need replacing as we rarely use it.The interior lights should run off the leisure battery, one works but the other two don’t, may just need new bulbs. All of these issues have been present for years and have not stopped us in any way from enjoying our holidays in the camper. All the pictures have been taken this week while we have been away. The camper is currently sited on our front drive and opened up to dry out, so you are welcome to visit and view it while socially distancing, Contact me to arrange a suitable time, or if you have any questions. Please Note, we will accept cash on collection only, no paypal.Happy bidding and happy holidays.
