Trailer Tent 5/6 Berth with Kitchen
Not going abroad this year, then this is the ideal
solution for a cheap UK staycation! She’s an old girl (1987 model), but still
has lots of life in her.
In reasonably good condition for her age. Comes with
removable kitchen with sink and hob (incl gas cylinder with some gas in it).
No mould, damp, rot, rips or tears. Some very minor
inconspicuous repairs to two small areas on the canvas. Since we have had her (approx.
16 years) when not in use, she has been dry-stored in our garage. Consists of the
main trailer tent, plus the large awning with additional zip in extension.
Fully equipped. Comes complete with all poles, pegs, one
under bed inner sleeping compartment pod, all roof linings and curtains, and
the wardrobe / toilet area, two breathable groundsheets, as well as some non-breathable ones. Crockery, cutlery, electric hook-up plugs and
adaptors included as well as a small gas lamp and an electric travel kettle as well as a few other bits and bobs. This
makes for a very spacious, comfortable and cosy accommodation.
I upgraded the main compartment bed mattresses, so
these are now twice the thickness of the original standard ones – very comfy!
Some of the peg rubbers could do with replacing.
The main trailer canvas and large awning were replaced
with canvas from a newer Conway Carlton model (red trim) after the original
Camargue ones (yellow trim) got damaged in the Boscastle storms a few years ago.
For the pictures, I put it up on our driveway, so was
unable to peg out the canvas properly. She looks much smarter when fully pegged
out and taught canvas.
Pick up only from Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
From the Conway website:
Camargue was one of the new model range introduced in 1985, and enjoyed a 5-year
run, until it was discontinued in 1989.
It is 420cm
wide, and 520cm deep, including both the main and extension awnings. Along with
a number of other models in the range, Conway were attempting to provide a
totally flexible accommodation solution, with just the trailer for overnight
stops, the trailer plus small awning, for weekend breaks and the trailer plus
both awning components for longer holidays.
Camargue was at the luxury end of the Conway range, and included their deluxe
kitchen, as well as toilet and wardrobe compartments in the main living area.
It also included, as standard, integral lockers, with seat cushions, and zipped
access to both under bed areas.
Current Price: £300.00
