1988 Conway Camargue Trailer Tent
4 berth.
Relisted due to a timewaster who requested to retract his bid at the last minute!
A much loved trailer tent in nice original condition and a reluctant sale due to lack of storage space.
Offering spacious camping accommodation measuring 5m x 4m overall with a height of 2.2m at the ridge and 1.7 m at the eaves. There’s no stooping around with a hunched back when holidaying in this tent!
The photos were taken the other week when the sun was out, I couldn’t peg it out properly as my garden is too small and my driveway is blockpaved.
Please read on to the end for a completely honest description.
it’s amazing to think it’s the best part of 40years old, I’ve owned newer tents which have lasted nowhere near as well as this has.
Bought secondhand by my father in law and then taken on by my wife and I in 2016. It has been drystored while in our families ownership. It hasn’t been used since 2016, but has been kept in a dry garage since then.
Ageless dark grey and pale grey colour to the canvas, contrasted with yellow zips and trimming, it’s still looks good today and hasn’t dated as badly as some of the colours they were made in – no chintzy floral patterns here!
There is Some fading to the dark grey colour of the unit, particularly notable on the roof. And the odd mark here and there but nothing too major.
Original curtains all present and colours still bright and vibrant.
Poles all straight, though some of the springs for connecting the longer poles have become detached.
Easy to tow, just been towed 70miles without problems, wheel bearings checked and greased. Unbraked main trailer, plated at 400kg. All lights work as they should. 7pin electrics. Trailer measures 3.3M x 1.2m including hitch. There is some slight surface rust to the trailer chassis, but it is still solid. The floor of the trailer is solid and not spongy and rotten – the carpet is the original!
There are two frames with castors which fit into the sockets for the corner steadies which allow the tent to be tipped up and stored on its side so it takes up less space, rare to see these.
The Canvasses in good condition for year. There has been a repair to the canvas of the bedroom unit, and there is a small hole there too. There is the odd mark here and there too.
Canvasses were treated with fabsil in 2016. There are a couple of what look like faint patchy stains, these appeared when treated with fabsil. When last used water just beaded and ran off the canvas.
End of the trailer detaches to form the kitchen unit, has gas two burner hob and grill (unused and untested) and a sink and two drawers. Some of the yellow edge trim of the kitchen unit is broken with age and missing.
Sleeps 4 on two platforms, Complete with the two bedroom inner tents, measuring 1.1m x 1.85m.
The original mattresses were discarded some time ago, we have used inflatable air beds.
Inner liners for the main living area are present. These feature two wardrobes with hangers as well as sectioning off the kitchen area.
Storage space also present under the trailer section, I believe separate bedroom pods were available at one time to extend the unit to 6 berths, those these are not included.
PVC trailer cover is in good order, the original elastic has been replaced with a length of rope.
Original instructions and owners manual is present, the poles are numbered as per the drawing.
Can be towed away, just bring a number plate, it’s ready to roll and located 5 minutes from junction 28 of the M1, easy access to the rest of the country.
Cash on collection preferred.

Electric hook up extension cable
Fused 3way socket outlet unit
Plastic wheel chocks
